Ray J’s American Grill is a burgers & other American eats served in a family-friendly setting with a full bar & arcade games.
Rays J’s American Grill was referred by the City of Woodbury who noticed that Ray J’s wasn’t recycling because their enclosure was too small to fit a second dumpster. After a site visit to verify Ray J’s needs and provide recommendations for reducing their waste bill which included expanding the enclosure to begin recycling service.
Ray J’s received a bid from a contractor to expand their enclosure and quickly realized that they would need assistance to fund the project. Manager, Stephan Flasch, said “Without the grant, we wouldn’t have been able to do this project.”
How We Helped
Ray J’s was awarded funds to expand their enclosure and get recycling containers for their facility. The construction included moving one of their condensing units and replacing one of the walls of the enclosure with a gate.
Ray J’s was very pleased with the outcome from the BizRecycling Program as Stephanie explained “We were able to hide our dumpsters within code and our property is cleaner which the city likes.”
Ray J’s is diverting an estimate 151,788 pounds of recyclable material from the landfill each year. Having recycling service has also allowed Ray J’s to reduce their trash dumpster which saves them $840 annually.
When asked about the BizRecycling Program, Stephanie said “The recycling experts really carried the project and made it happen. Programs like this are very important for business owners because it provides them with a valuable resource.”
