Managing Summer Recycling for Restaurants
As patio season is upon us and you may be in the process of reopening, you may be ordering outdoor furniture for your guests or other supplies that often come along with a lot of packaging. Wondering what to do with those boxes? Here are a few reminders of how to dispose of them responsibly:
- Cardboard boxes should be placed in your curbside recycling bin (emptied and flattened).
- Boxes with food, grease, dirt, or liquid on them should be placed in the trash, or put in with your food scraps recycling (remove tape first).
- If you have large quantities of cardboard, visit the Ramsey County A-Z Disposal Guide or the Washington County Disposal Directory for recycling options.
- If you’re interested in exploring other ways to expand recycling at your business, BizRecycling offers free consultations and grants of up to $20,000 to provide containers, signage, staff training, and more to support recycling and food scraps collection. Learn more here.
